Description
In this course, graduate students will learn the process for diagnosing and correcting struggling readers, including students with dyslexia and related disorders. The procedures for evaluation, identification, and remediation of dyslexia in the state of Texas will be explored. Students will learn how to interpret the results of a diagnostic evaluation, create an intervention plan, draft goals for progress monitoring, and participate in an Admission, Review and Dismissal meeting. Students will also learn critical components of evidence-based dyslexia instruction. This course contains a field-based service-learning component.
